About JIC
37° flare fitting that seals metal to metal on the flare seat. It shares the seat angle and threads with AN fittings, so a -6 JIC mates with a -6 AN. The most common hydraulic hose end in North America and the standard for motorsport fuel lines.

About ORB
SAE straight thread O ring boss port. An O ring on the male end seals in the chamfer of the port, so it holds high pressure without sealant and can be clocked to any angle. Found on pumps, valves, cylinders and manifolds.

A single machined adapter replaces a stack of two or three, so there are fewer joints to leak and the run is shorter and lighter.
